125cc Training


If you're 17 or over, you can apply to take your practical motorcycle test. We provide training for a light motorcycle licence (A1), which restricts riders to any bike up to 125 cc and a power output of 11 kW.

 

After passing the standard motorcycle practical test, you will be restricted for two years to riding a bike of up to 25 kW and a power/weight ratio not exceeding 0.16 kW/kg. After this you may ride any size of bike.

During the training, we will assess your riding carefully to improve all your riding skills for the test, including:

  • Road riding and Observations
  • Stopping an pulling away safely
  • Angle starts from behind a parked vehicle
  • Wheeling the bike and using the stands
  • A slalom and figure of eight
  • Cornering and Hazard Avoidance
  • Controlled stop
  • Emergency stop
  • Slow riding
  • Hill starts
  • U-turns
